Description

This is a Lionel 397 Vintage O Operating Coal Loader from 1948-57. When activated the motor turns the rubber drive belt which can load coal into a waiting car. In addition coal can be dumped into the loader from a car from a coal dump car such as the 3459 or 3469. The 397 is a classic Lionel accessory and can also be used in conjunction with the 456 Coal Ramp. It measures 10 inches long x 7 inches wide x 7 inches tall. Other features include metal and bake-lite construction.

This item has been graded per TCA standards C-6: Very Good based on visual appearance. There is a bit of rust and dirt residue on the metal base. The plastic construction is scuffed and scratched in a few spots. The overall appearance of this item may be improved with a gentle and thorough cleaning. The instruction manual is not included.
