The GMD-1 was built between 1958 and 1960 by General Motors of London. The GMD-1 is ann extended 1200 HP roadswitcher, equally at home on the branchline, on the mainline and in the yard. Features include 5-pole skew-wound motor with excellent slow-speed performance, accurate dimensions taken from GMD blueprints and field measurements, heavy die cast chassis for great pulling power, full cab interior and body-mounted Micro-Trains(R) couplers.
