Here is a Lionel 218 Vintage O Santa Fe Alco Powered A Diesel Locomotive. The 218 Santa Fe Alco was a common diesel in the Lionel Alco series in the early 1960s. Their five-year production run makes it an easy item to acquire. The 218s were usually produced as an AA unit — except in 1961 when an AB combination was available in limited quantities. This is only a single powered A unit. Standard features include a plastic and metal construction, silver and red painted body with black lettering, front and rear non-operating couplers. It is also equipped with two-axle Magnetraction, three-position E-unit plus, functional horn and metal wheels and axles.
This item has been graded per TCA standards C-6: Very Good. The front pilot is broken off. The nose decal is heavily flaked. This locomotive did not run when tested. This locomotive shows scratches and paint loss throughout various sections of the shell and chassis. This locomotive shows rust on the chassis and trucks. The instruction manual is not included.
