Description
Here is a Lionel 226E Vintage O Prewar 2-6-4 Steam Locomotive w/ 2426W Tender from 1938-42. The 226E was one of Lionel’s top of the line engines in the late Prewar era and many of the tools used to make the 226 were used as the starting point for the Postwar Era 726/736 Berkshires. This powered steam locomotive features a powerful motor, reverse unit, lights, full die-cast construction, and metal wheels.
This item has been graded per TCA standards C-6: Very Good based on visual appearance. Numerous mechanical components are missing from the locomotive — please see the repair card for the details. A large chunk of the locomotive’s cow-catcher piece is broken off. The locomotive is missing a marker jewel pieces and the munt it sits in is bent. The locomotive is missing the body railing. Pieces of the tender’s rear steps are broken off and the front steps are out of alignment and bent. The locomotive and tender show scratches and spots of paint loss throughout various sections of the shell and chassis. Both items show rust throughout various sections of the chassis and trucks. The overall appearance of each item may be improved with a gentle and thorough cleaning. This item has been inspected by our repair shop.
