Description
This is Busch 47550 Ford Mustang 1964. 1964 Ford Mustang Sedan. In April 1964 Ford presented the Mustang and it quickly became the most important Ford model. It was praised as the Thunderbird for the little guy. Lee Iacocca, Fords vice president, conceived of the Mustang as the sports car for the young and young-at-heart. Intended to be affordable to the lower middle class, the basic version of Mustang with a 106hp, six-cylinder engine was available for $US 2,368, half as much as the direct competitors Corvette and Chevrolet. On the first sales day all vehicles were sold and more than 20,000 additional orders were written, a world record. The 1:87 scale model returns the glow of the good old times and is available for the first time also as hardtop.
At the same time we introduce this new model, we are starting a new collector series of racing vehicles. The models of the Historic Tour Cars Trophy with start Numbers 95 and 96 are two Ford Mustangs, which are still used today when running. The Historic Tour Car Trophy is the largest historical route car field in Europe. 2004 marks the 13th Season.
